NORTHERN COUNTIES EAST LEAGUE DIVISION ONE, GRIMSBY BOROUGH 0-4 SHIREBROOK TOWN, ATTENDANCE: 36.
It was a bitterly cold afternoon on the East coast and this game did little to raise the temperature.
After an insipid opening 65 minutes the game suddenly burst into life as Shirebrook hit Grimsby with 4 goals in 7 minutes to nick the points.

Brandon Cardwell (65) Jason Bradley (67) Mitcham Husbands (70) and Tom Mullen (72) scored for the Langwith Road men.
A harsh scoreline on the homesters, as there was absolutely nothing between the teams up until then.
The game was played at the Bradley Football Development Centre, which is a council built facility with 3G and grass pitches. The main pitch (which was in immaculate condition) consists of an arena stand on the halfway line and and arena 'terrace' behind one of the goal. The BFDC is also the home of Cleethorpes Town.

Borough were only formed in 2001 and this is the first ground they can truly call home after groundsharing at first Brigg then. The lack of ground earned them the nickname of 'The Wilderness Boys'
Nice facilities but I was charged £1.50 for a coffee and £1.20 for a Snickers. At least Dick Turpin wore a mask!
Nonetheless an enjoyable day out and here's to better luck for Borough than they had today.
